Football and Spanish culture in an international university framework: Erasmus Time

Football is a universal language and the Valencia Football Club Foundation has always supported this with activities and competitions such as Erasmus Time. However “The Academy” pushes the boundaries and goes that step further and unites football with the teaching of Spanish.

In order to carry out such an ambition project, The Foundation has signed an agreement with The 500 year old University of Valencia to design a completely unique programme which will not only accommodate all profiles and requirements, but which will be certified by two big names; VFC and The University of Valencia via its Foundation and Centre for Languages respectively. Spanish, the heritage of all Spaniards is a language of the future and here at “The Academy” we focus on it with the importance it deserves.

“The Academy” will provide Valencia Football Club; all professional players and staff from other countries, a Spanish Language Programme to aid the integration and sporting performance even before their arrival!


UNIVERSITY EDUCATION

“The Academy” intends to take Valencia F. C. back to school and convert the Club, the Foundation, Football and sport in general into a learning experience, “it’s not just about playing football”. One of the principal missions was to teach the history of Valencia F. C. via the course “Valencia F. C., 90 years of History”. The Masters courses and seminars are another fantastic opportunity to blend practical experiences at Valencia F. C. with a theoretical base provided by the University. The Masters in Strategic Management of Sporting Organisations is a clear example of this fusion. All the courses have been carefully structured by the University of Valencia, “The Academy” and our very own VFC Foundation and are carefully based upon quality, professionalism and internationalisation so as to promote the reputation of Valencia Football Club and its Foundation throughout the whole world through top class training.
